Either you agree that Islam is a "Religion of Peace" OR we will kill you!
How many times you have read statement coming from local or Iranian/Pakistani/Saudi leaders that “Islam is Peace”. And you better believe that despite what the newspapers or Television say on a dailt basis and despite the threatening response from even otherwise peaceful-looking muslims, when you tried debating with Muslims on any controversial topic like Religious freedom is Saudi Arabia or Pakistan, Palestine or Kashmir issue.
Generally argument takes the following form.
1: Islam is a religion of peace, if you don't believe go to sites Islamisblah.org, peaceIslamblah.com etcetera, or convert to Muslim.
2: If you still are adamant and don’t believe in ‘Islam is peace’, despite what daily newspapers tell you, we will kill you for besmirching the good name of Islam or its prophet.
But the key questions that Muslims should be asking themselves are:
· Why is that if Islam is a religion of peace, Muslims have perpetrated some of the biggest genocides? The most recent examples are – Killing Local Sudanese by Arabs, Bangladesh genocide in 1970 by Pakistani and Killing of Blochs in Pakistan.
· Why is that with some exceptions (to prove the rule) almost every Muslim-majority nation suppresses and tortures adherents of other religions.
· Why is that almost every conflict in the world involves Muslims at least on one side but increasingly on both sides? One can’t say Muslims to be the only people with reasons for feeling anguish. Hundreds of Millions Christians, Hindus, Buddhist and Jews killed by Muslims over the last millennium should provide enough motivation for other communities to suicide bomb Muslims café, Mosques etc. But the only people bombing Mosques are Muslims themselves (in Pakistan, Iraq, Afghanistan). And Chinese do not go around bombing Japanese despite all the humiliation Japanese heaped on them in Nanking and dozen other places.
It seems Islam; a great religion in the past, is slowly getting mutated into a bloodthirsty cult, with hardly any economic, cultural, scientific contribution to the world over the last many centuries. Muslims are becoming increasingly a closed communal group, who are suspicious and angry with everyone else and, in return, are unwelcome and deemed dangerous to others, whether on airports or in the neighborhood.
