Secularism is defined in the west is defined as absence of the influence of religion on civil affairs or public education. In post independence India, Secularism is defined as treating and involving all religions and ideologies equally, sort of. In this respect, the Indian thinkers turned the definition of Secularism on its head, probably influenced by age-old concept of Sanatana Dharma.

Nothing particularly wrong with the Indian definition of Secularism, but lets see who are the biggest self-proclaimed followers of Secularism in India. There is a small but probably not insignificant group of real seculars as defined in India, but the movement has been made hostage by a large and vocal group consisting of 1) atheist communists who think that religion is opium of the masses, but still find Secularism a useful platform to undermine the dominant religion, and 2) A majority of Muslims including the so called moderates, who join secularism bandwagon till Islam becomes powerful enough to kill all non-Muslims in any region, for example in the erstwhile Western India (Now Pakistan) or Kashmir Valley.

However, the biggest percentage of the secular movement followers who have really allowed the above mentioned two groups to distort the entire Secularism ideology, are the those weak Hindus, who still have not entirely come out of Dhimmitude, not having subconsciously forgotten the terror perpetrated by Muslims for over 800 years, resulting in forcibly converting through more than one-third of Indian population (Including Pakistan and Bangladesh) now accounting for over 450 million people. While Muslims and Christians are demanding and receiving apologies from each other for their respective incidents of past cruelty, Hindus still have not gained enough confidence to confront their past oppressors, both Christians or Muslims. These weak Hindus join hands with Communists and Muslims in justifying existence of a disputed and unused Mosque built over a demolished Hindu temple site, but would they ask Saudi government to Allow Hindus in Mecca or at least allow them to bring their gods’ images in their country. Nope, they would justify this by stating that it would hurt Muslim sentiments. Or guess how many temples are there in Lahore, a Hindu-majority city till 1947, which by a quirk of fate, went to Pakistan. NONE or at the most one ! Where did the thousands of temple, that must be present in Lahore, the City of Luv, Son of Bhagwan Ram) till 1947 Go! Disappear in thin air or almost certainly raised to the ground by Muslims? The tragedy is that in the name of political correctness, we have stopped asking important but difficult questions from ourselves and from those who don’t give a damn about being political correct.

The problem with Secularism as practiced in India, is that there is no reciprocity among religions. Secularism in India has been deliberately mutated into virulent Anti-Hinduism, by the communists and moderate Muslims, practicing Hudaibiya, that can be loosely termed as sleeper-terrorists. And unfortunately some naïve idealistic Hindus, who still go by the theoretical definition of Indian Secularism, unknowingly become cannon fodder for these traitors.

India has all religions and sects living more or less in peace for so many centuries, not because of its foreign-funded NGOs, because it is a Hindu majority nation with ethos and mores steeped in the Hindu culture. The moment one removes this calming effect of Hinduism on any region, the result is for all to see. You get Pakistan, a rabid terrorist nursery and Bangladesh, a new hotbed of Islamic jihad. But Hinduism itself cannot remain unaffected, if Islamic Terrorists and their sympathizers masquerading as Muslim moderates, communists or secularists attack it from all sides, as is happening now.

But the key questions that Muslims should be asking themselves are:

· Why is that if Islam is a religion of peace, Muslims have perpetrated some of the biggest genocides? The most recent examples are – Killing Local Sudanese by Arabs, Bangladesh genocide in 1970 by Pakistani and Killing of Blochs in Pakistan.

· Why is that with some exceptions (to prove the rule) almost every Muslim-majority nation suppresses and tortures adherents of other religions.

· Why is that almost every conflict in the world involves Muslims at least on one side but increasingly on both sides? One can’t say Muslims to be the only people with reasons for feeling anguish. Hundreds of Millions Christians, Hindus, Buddhist and Jews killed by Muslims over the last millennium should provide enough motivation for other communities to suicide bomb Muslims café, Mosques etc. But the only people bombing Mosques are Muslims themselves (in Pakistan, Iraq, Afghanistan). And Chinese do not go around bombing Japanese despite all the humiliation Japanese heaped on them in Nanking and dozen other places.

It seems Islam; a great religion in the past, is slowly getting mutated into a bloodthirsty cult, with hardly any economic, cultural, scientific contribution to the world over the last many centuries. Muslims are becoming increasingly a closed communal group, who are suspicious and angry with everyone else and, in return, are unwelcome and deemed dangerous to others, whether on airports or in the neighborhood.

The two places he visited — the capital of Balochistan, Quetta, and the oil and gas-rich Baloch-dominated township, Kohlu — made news for the wrong reasons. At both these places, assassination attempts were made on him.

Soon after the General’s visit, the Pakistan military forces launched yet another massive operation in Balochistan, targeted at the Marri tribes, who are up in arms against the denial of basic civic amenities even five decades after Pakistan was born. Helicopter gun ships and jet fighters are pounding what Islamabad terms as rebel positions in the area. There is a virtual blackout of news. Unofficial reports put the death toll at over 200. Reports speak of food shortages, spread of diseases, and non- supply of water and electricity in the ‘operations’ zone. Pakistan’s Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpo declared on December 27 that the government would not relent.

This is the fourth outbreak of violence, officially called rebellion, since the creation of Pakistan in 1947. Phrases like “national movement”, “azadi” and “injustice” are being liberally used by Baloch people. There are frequent references to the similarities between present-day Balochistan and pre-liberation Bangladesh. “Warnings from a Baloch leader similar to what my fellow Bengali journalists gave me in the late sixties of the situation in then East Pakistan now keep reverberating in my ears”, Shamsul Hasan wrote in ‘The Nation’ on December 23, 2005.

The latest news is that the intelligence agencies have unearthed a plot by Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and Sipah Sahaba to use suicide bombers to kill Shia members of the legislative council of the Northern Areas.

It is clear that preparations are being made for another bout of sectarian attacks. On Monday, a Sunni cleric from Multan was gunned down in Karachi to avenge the murder of a Shia cleric in Balochistan a day earlier.

The entire country has become linked in a network of terrorism which now boasts Al Qaeda-style suicide-bombing. If you look at the map of the country, the territories under challenge comprise the Northern Areas, the North and South Waziristan Agencies in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and all of Balochistan, the largest province comprising 40 percent of Pakistan’s territory.

One can easily say that half of Pakistan is in the grip of people whose way of life is violence. And who is responsible for this if not the government which has been unable to tackle the problems that give rise to this violence?

The biggest mess is in Gilgit, the administrative centre of the Northern Areas. And the mess dates back to the army’s decision to deploy an extremist anti-Shia Lashkar-e-Tayba during the Kargil Operation of 1999 in tandem with regular troops.

Army was also not able to prevent the target-killing of prominent Shia leaders, which enlisted the sectarian emotion of the entire community in the country.

Sanao Menghwar, a Hindu resident of Karachi’s Punjab Colony, is a traumatised man; all three of his daughters —Aishwarya, Reena and Reema — have been kidnapped and forced to convert to Islam.In the police complaint that he filed at the behest of the Panchayat after two days of futile searching for his daughters, he stated that when he and his wife returned home from work, they discovered their daughters had gone missing.The police arrested three Muslim youths in connection with the crime, who were later granted bail by a court because they’re minors. Menghwar’s daughters continue to remain missing. “Kidnapping Hindu girls like this has become a normal practice.

The girls are then forced to sign stamp papers stating that they’ve become Muslims,” says Laljee Menghwar, a member of the Hindu Panchayat in Karachi. According to him, the Pakistani government needs to examine and put a stop to the social oppression of religious minorities in the country. “Hindus here are too frightened to vent their anger — they fear victimisation. But we have now decided to go public with these cases and demand justice,” Laljee says.

Their cause has found support in the Pakistani Christian community, who carried out a demonstration with them in Karachi, protesting against this crime.Similarly startling incidents have occurred in several districts of Sindh and evoked identical responses. At least six Hindu girls met this fate a few months ago in Jacobabad (a tribal area heavily inhabited by Hindus) and Larkana districts.
